We will therefore ask you always come to us on time for the examination. In case you cannot come to the examination for serious reasons, please contact us as soon as possible. contact.
Preparation before the examination
Before your first visit to our proctology centre, you need to have an injection into your rectum glycerine suppositorieswhich you may also know as glycerin suppositories. These are to available in every pharmacy and are over-the-counter, which means you don't need a prescription from a doctor to buy them.
The preparation procedure before the examination is as follows:
- The evening before the scheduled examination into your rectum 2 pcs of glycerine suppositories.
- On the day of the examination, approximately 2-3 hours before the scheduled examination, insert into your rectum additional 2 pcs of glycerine suppositories.
After the application of glycerin suppositories, their action is manifested within 10 to 30 minutes by emptying the stool. It often happens that you come to our outpatient clinic and you are bothered that you have not defecated enough or the suppositories have not worked on you at all and you have not defecated at all. It's normal and don't worry about it at all. Feel free to come for an examination.
For examination by a proctologist there is no need to have a written recommendationor an exchange slip from the general practitioner!
